Counsellor, BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered and BAPAM (British Association for Performing Arts Medicine) registered practioner, working with a diverse range of clients 18+ across the UK.

You may be feeling anxious, burnt out, sad, angry, stuck or simply curious and reflective about your thought processes and life decisions; counselling can help support you through challenging, transitional and uncertain times.

Introduction:

Trained in Integrative Counselling – combining person-centred and psychodynamic approaches to therapy as well as psycho-education – I work with clients 18+ online through my private practice and for a charity and in-person with students in educational settings. I provide both short and long-term term counselling, we discuss the length of sessions at the start of our work together.

Many of my clients come from a creative background and/or study/work in related professions.  I see clients from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and with a wide range of issues.  Working with students in higher education, I also focus on the 18-28 age-group and the specific issues facing this group as they transition from school to further education or first jobs and navigate adulthood and independence.

My background:

Having benefitted myself from therapy, I decided to study counselling and was blown away by what I learnt about our early influences, attachment styles, how we develop and adapt, the patterns of behaviour we acquire and how all of this plays out in our current lives. By the end of my training I knew counselling was the vocation I wanted to pursue.

Previously I was in Public Relations and coming from a background where I worked for many years in music, art, dance, fashion, beauty, media and entertainment, I have an understanding of the specific nature and challenges of these worlds and industries as well as the creative mindset.

Life throws many challenges at us. Having the opportunity to talk openly and freely in the counselling space, reflecting on events and relationships, can make a difference, supporting your emotional health and wellbeing.

The Process:

Counselling provides the unique opportunity for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, without judgement, in confidence and at a pace that feels comfortable to you. From specific life events to on-going issues, if something is bothering you, or feels like it is holding you back, counselling can help to resolve this, allowing you to move forward more freely with your life.

I work with a wide range of issues including: anxiety - social anxiety - performance anxiety - low mood - depression - abuse - fears - feelings of resentment and jealousy - health-related issues - issues around food - bereavement and loss - pet bereavement - loneliness - bullying - identity - love addiction - family, friend and work relationships and dynamics - unresolved family trauma - family legacies and secrets - self-esteem - self-image - body confidence. You might identify with one or more of these issues, or you might want to look at something else, each of my clients is unique, some have been diagnosed or self-diagnosed as neurodivergent, what is important are your personal life experiences, thoughts and feelings.

My Practice:

Alongside my online private practice, I am part of the counselling team at London Contemporary Dance School. I am also a freelance counsellor for Eggtooth, the South Coast’s leading creative wellbeing service for children, young people, parents and professionals.

Prior to that, I was part of the team at BIMM London (The British and Irish Modern Music University), MetFilm and BIMM Brighton which includes a Music University, Screen and Film School and Institute for Contemporary Theatre.
